Aralia spinosa

Aralia spinosa, the Hercules' Club or Angelica Tree, came from the eastern United States in 1688. It forms a tall bush sparsely furnished with spiny branches, bearing large heads of handsome tripinnate leaves.

The flowers are borne in September and are in large heads, and very showy.
