Bryanthus


A small genus of Ericaceae, composed of dwarf, compact, Heath-like shrubs, bearing red flowers in short, dense heads. They are very useful for the rock, garden, and are increased by cuttings or division.

Bryanthus Breweri is found in Sierra Nevada and California, B. empetriformis in British Columbia, California, and other places, and Bryanthus erectus is a hybrid between the last named and Rhodothamnus Chamaecistus. The first and last mentioned are very rare plants. All like peat.
