Buxus sempervirens

Buxus sempervirens, the common Box, makes a large bush or small tree. It is a native of Europe, northern Africa, and Asia, and is found wild in England; there are many varieties with large and small, silver and gold variegated leaves and pendulous branches.

B. s. suffruticosa is the edging Box, and other good varieties are argentea, aurea maculata, a. pendula, elegantissima, Handsworthii, myosotifolia, pendula, and rosmarinifolia.
