Cephalanthus Occidentalis
The Button Bush of North America belongs to the Rubiaceae, and was introduced in 1735. It makes a shapely bush 2 to 4 feet high, and bears curious, round heads of yellowish white flowers in July.
A moist but well drained peaty soil suits it best.
