Cornus Mas

Cornus Mas, the Cornelian Cherry or Cornel, is a native shrub of Europe, and is found wild in Britain. It forms a large bush 15 or 20 feet high, and bears small yellow blossoms in profusion during February and March, followed by red, Cherry-like fruits.

The variety aurea elegantissima has pretty, golden variegated leaves, and variegata has silver variegated foliage.
