Daboecia polifolia

The St. Dabeoc's Heath is a very floriferous, low growing evergreen shrub belonging to the Ericaceae. It is found in western Europe, and occurs in Ireland. When mature, it forms a dense tuft 1 foot or so high, and bears upright racemes of drooping red flowers, which may be found from May to September.

A peaty soil is necessary. It is increased by seeds or cuttings. The variety alba has white blossoms, and bicolor has both red and white flowers.
