Morus alba / nigra

The principal interest of this genus of Urticaceae, so far as English gardens are concerned, lies in Morus nigra, the Black Mulberry, a tree valuable for its edible fruit, and of which the native country is unknown.

Morus alba, the White Mulberry, is a common and very variable Asiatic tree. There are a great many varieties in cultivation, which show much difference in size and shape of leaf. One variety, Morus pendula, has pendulous branches.
