Olearia

One species only of this genus of Compositae can be said to be really hardy, though several others are grown out of doors in Cornwall and a few other places.

This species is Olearia Haastii, an evergreen shrub from New Zealand. It grows 3 to 4 feet high and forms a dense bush, with small, evergreen leaves and white flowers, the latter being borne in July.

It is an excellent seaside plant, and is useful for large or small gardens. Cuttings root readily in a cold frame.
