Rhodothamnus Chamaecistus


A dwarf shrub belonging to Ericaceoe, which was introduced from the Austrian Alps in 1786. It grows 9 inches to 1 foot high, and' has tiny, evergreen, Helianthemum-like leaves and pink flowers 3/4 inch across. Its proper place is the rock garden, where it should be planted in a crevice between large stones. It is one of the few plants in the Erica family that grows among limestone rocks.
