Ruscus aculeatus


Ruscus aculecctus, the Butcher's Broom, is found wild in some parts of England. It grows 2 feet high. Other species are Ruscus Hypoglossum and Ruscus Hypophyllum.

The Ruscus is a genus of the Asparageae group of Liliaceae. The various species are natives of Europe, and one, Ruscus Hypophyllum, is also found in North Africa. All have evergreen branches and are useful for undergrowth.
